Moss Developer Polyarc Shuts Down Game Development After Nearly 12 Years

Polyarc, the developer behind the VR action-adventure series Moss, has announced that it is winding down active game development after nearly 12 years.

The studio shared the news in a statement saying its team members are now saying their farewells as their work together comes to an end. Polyarc did not provide further details about what led to the decision or what the announcement means for the company going forward.

“Today is the end of an era for Polyarc,” the studio said. “As we wind down active development, we are saying our farewells to each other.”

Polyarc also highlighted the developers affected by the decision and encouraged studios currently hiring to consider members of its team.

The studio is best known for Moss and Moss: Book II, two VR action-adventure games starring Quill, a mouse who interacts directly with the player while exploring environments, solving puzzles, and fighting enemies. Polyarc later returned to the setting with the multiplayer VR title Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss.

In its closing message, Polyarc thanked the developers who worked at the studio as well as the players and others who supported its games over the years.
